The idea to write Sex Safe came to me when Irem was in 8th grade. I felt she suddenly entered puberty and when I was ready to discuss this with her, I was already too late. What I noticed was the lack of modern and, above all, fun sex education. Together with my friend and artist Selwyn Senatori, the idea to write this book was born. But, like you will probably know, life happens and suddenly you find yourself a few years later. When my son Shai hit puberty overnight, I called Selwyn and we immediately started working on this.
